Dual Truss Frame vs Single Pipe Frame Fabric Structures: Which is Best for You?

When looking into which fabric structure would work best for you, there are two main types: dual truss and single pipe. Each has its own benefits, and the better suited choice of two ultimately depends on the intended use of the shelter and the environmental conditions it will face. In the photo below you will see the founder and owner of Covermore Shelters side by side with both trusses.

Dual Truss Frame vs Single Pipe Frame

Dual Truss Frame

A dual truss framed structure, also known as the peaked structure, features two trusses that form a peaked roof over the structure. This design provides a higher center height than a single truss shelter, making it ideal for larger equipment and maximized storage solutions. Additionally, the peaked roof design allows for snow and rain to easily slide off the sides, reducing the risk of damage to the structure and its contents. (See dual truss frame on the left)

Single Pipe Frame

A single pipe structure, also known as a round roof, features a single truss that creates a slanted roof over the structure. This design is ideal for environments with moderate to low snowfall or rainfall, as it allows water and snow to eventually run off the roof without accumulating. These structures have a lower center height compared to the Dual Truss structure. (See single pipe frame on the right)
